Beauty tips, because sharing is caring / Unos trucos de belleza digno de compartir

I love these tips, some of them I already do and the rest are on my to try list, specially the blue mascara...
1. Scent your hair with perfume
Spray a light shot of fragrance into your water mist. Spray it on your hair  and your hair will smell amazing throughout the day.

2.Fuller lips.
Cinnamon is the active ingredient in many expensive lip plumpers — add a few sprinkles of cinnamon to your gloss or use cinnamon oil on your lips, which you can get at natural-food stores. It’s a lot cheaper and does the same thing.

3.- Shave with conditioner
Apply a thick hair conditioner to your legs before you shave. It acts like a shaving cream and softens the hair so it’s easier to shave off and makes legs feel amazingly silky. Or try this DIY recipe. love it

4. Boost your hair’s shine with vinegar
Mix one part of apple cider vinegar with four parts carbonated water, and soak dry hair. Leave on for 15 minutes before your shampoo to lock in shine and combat dullness.

5. To the last drop
When you get to the bottom of your scent and it won’t spray out anymore, pour it into your body wash or an unscented moisturiser to get more use out of it

6. Egg-white mask
To revive tired, dull skin try this: Crack open an egg in a bowl, separate the yolk (use that yolk for a hair treatment), and use the egg whites to make a face mask. The proteins help to heal and restore skin’s moisture. Leave it on for five minutes, and rinse off.

7.  Coloured me mascara
According to a beauty expert, dark navy mascara can ‘wake-up’ your eyes. The blue casts a reflection that makes your eyes sparkle. Apply black mascara just to the tips of your lashes, so it doesn’t look ‘too blue’ and this also makes the whites of your eyes whiter.

 8. Brush up your eyebrows
Use an old {clean} mascara brush to brush up your eyebrows. {You can spritz them with a little hairspray first to help keep your brows in place!} It helps to enhance the ‘arch’ of your eyebrow and in turn makes your eyes look bigger and more awake.

9. Refresh your make-up during the day
Place a clean tissue over your face, spritz it with a fine water spray and then peel it off. Your foundation will be instantly revived. Amazing.....

10.Apply your eyeshadow and brush on your mascara first.
Apply it before you apply your foundation and powder. That way you don’t have to worry about spoiling your foundation with a stray glob of mascara. Best tip ever..

11. I like it dirty :)
Second day dirty hair is much easier to work with when you’re doing an up-do

What is your favorite beauty tip? Sharing is caring :)

Can Beer Wash Out a Relaxer? Beer hair Recipes / Puede la cerveza sacar el alisado del cabello? Recetas a base de cerveza

When I was a child I used to live in a very particular house, if I could  call it that way; there were 3 little houses in a row and we had to share the same patio and the same restroom and ohh boy the things you see when 3 Caribbean families share the same back yard: a little chicken farm, women in towels crossing by your door, boys brushing their teeth in the patio because of course the restroom was being used for someone else,, Viejas in rolos, and all kinds of funny things I could write a book about... One day when I was around 11 I opened up my back door and saw my neighbor pouring a beer on her hair; I asked, of course, we Dominicans can't just walk by and pretended like nothing is happening and is not our business, ohh no, we ask... And it was explained to me that she was tired of the relaxed hair and that the beer would wash it out, I was confused, I mean, I was waiting like for ever to have my hair relaxed and she wanted to wash it off? - My mom always said: you will get your hair relaxed when you turn 15.-

Does beer really wash out a relaxer?
I know all of you that want to have your hair curly again are waiting for a positive answer, but noooooo chicas, once you had your hair relaxed the only thing that will take it off/out is grow it out and cut  it little by little or all at once.

But beer is actually really good for your hair because of the protein in the malt and the hops in it. These proteins can bond with the individual hairs, strengthening, repairing and replenishing the hair making it soft and shiny.

Here are some recipes to try:
  1. Mix one teaspoon of jojoba oil and a cup of warm beer. Wash your hair as usual and rinse well. Pour the mixture of beer and jojoba oil into the hair. Massage it through. Let it set for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water. The beer adds body and the jojoba oil adds shine.
  2. Homemade beer shampoo is easy to make. Begin with a sulfate free shampoo. Pour one cup of it into a plastic squeeze bottle. Heat one and a half cups of beer in a pot. Bring to a boil and heat until the beer reduces to one-quarter cup. Cool the beer and add it to the shampoo. Shake to mix it. Use a small amount to wash your hair and rinse well. The beer will give hair shine and bounce. Store the shampoo in the refrigerator.
  3. Beer hair rinse mix 1/4 cup water, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar and 1/4 cup beer  and use as a final rinse after conditioning, rinsing completely with warm water. Repeat every seven to 10 days.
Remember that healthy hair comes from the inside out, all these natural remedies works, but if you really want healthy, long, shinny hair: drink plenty of water, include protein to your diet and a multi-vitamin with iron (carry oxygen to hair), zinc (build hair protein), Copper (optimize hair color), Vitamin A (keep the scalp healthy), Vitamin B and C (help hair growth and color).

Have you ever used beer on your hair?
