Tips and recommendations to survive Allergy Face / Trucos para combatir las alergias

There is nothing worse than waking up on a very special day with a swollen face, red, watery eyes, puffy face and blotchy or dry skin because of allergies. The weather change can be the principal cause of face allergy but actually , some beauty products can also be the cause.
Allergies
Almost  any product that has water must have some preservatives, like parabens, imidazolidinyl urea, Quaternium-15, DMDM hydantoin, phenoxyethanol, methylchloroisothiazolinone, and formaldehyde are linked to skin allergies. Other beauty products most likely to cause skin reactions include bath soaps, detergents, antiperspirants, eye makeup, moisturizers, shampoos, long-wearing lip stains, nail polish (especially those that have formaldehyde), and fingernail glue containing methcrylate.
Other beauty products that can cause irritation to the skin are  Retin-A wrinkle creams and serums, hair dyes, especially those containing p-phenylenediamine as well as ammonium persulfate used to lighten hair. Beauty products that have alpha-hydroxy acids can cause problems for some people, like redness, swelling, blisters, and itching -- especially with products that have an AHA level over 10%.
Here are some tips and recommendations to help your allergies
  • Change or stop using whatever is causing the reaction right away.
  • Look for products with the fewest ingredients. This will lower your chance of a reaction.
  • Always apply fragrance to your clothes, not your skin.
  • Do a patch test before using any  new product.
  • Drink plenty of water, yes water, if you have a puffy face it's because your blood vessels are dehydrated. Drink water once you wake up to help the swelling.
  • Moisture those dry spots: If your skin is dry due to allergy it is also very raw and irritating so you may wanna choose a cleansing with healing and inflammatory properties. A gentle homemade exfoliate  can help you a lot. Try oatmeal and honey followed by a cucumber mask.
  • Tea? a tea bag comes in handy to bring down puffiness and dark circles .
  • If you really need to go out that day, because the show must go on, Concealer is your best friend. A tinted moisturizer or BB cream will even out any blotchiness, while adding extra hydration.
  • look for products marked "fragrance-free" or "without perfume."

  8. I have some severe skin allergies so I have to be extra cautious about the types of products I use. Unfortunately, many of today's commercial products feature chemicals that irritate your skin; causing a variety of allergic reactions. Therefore, I always seek products that are hypo-allergenic. Of course it gets tedious at times reading labels to ensure they have the right ingredients, but I know it will help me avoid crazy skin problems. Along the way, I have managed to find some products that don't irritate my skin. I am especially impressed with Omnifix adhesive tapes. They work very well for sensitive skin and I haven't had any allergic reactions. I will try out these other regimens as well. Thanks!
