Shampoo or no Shampoo your natural hair./ champu o no Champu para tu pelo rizo..

Shampoo works by removing contaminants such as dirt that have built up over time. The soap bonds in the shampoo attach to the layer of protective oil on each strand, and when the shampoo is rinsed off, all of the dirt, dust and contaminants wash off as well. The active ingredient in all shampoos is a surfactant, which is a type of detergent. The surfactant in shampoos strips the sebum, a type of natural hair oil and all the dirt and foreign substances attached to it from the hair shaft temporarily.
Some common primary detergents used in shampoos are ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, and sodium lauryl ether sulfate. The reason that these common detergents occur in such an abundance is due to being very cheap for the manafacturer to purchase. Their production is so widely used that you might find them in common household cleansers. Also, SLS is so strong that itis also used to scrub garage floors. Worse, it has been proven to cause cancer in the long run.
We used to believed that a good shampoo is the on that make a good foam, but the truth is that They are just empty bubbles of trouble.
Do we really need Shampoo...
The natural hair tendency is not to use shampoo, but in facts you do need to use shampoo once and a while to really clean your hair and lucky us we have a big selection of sulfate free shampoo to choose from.
You may hear that Shampoo is Shampoo, but in  my opinion the shampoo you chose to "clean" your hair is very important and since I tried more than 20 different brands(including sulfates) I know that a good moisturize shampoo can make your detangling process easier..

clarify shampoo staff builds up on your hair; hard water and mineral deposits; chlorine and chemicals from swimming pools, waxes and moisturizers in some shampoos and conditioners can leave build up on your hair over time. This build up can cause hair to appear dull, heavy, greasy, and limp. A clarifying shampoo can help remove those deposits, give your hair a fresh start, and restore shine.
Giovanni, 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo is my favorite, why? because some clarify shampoo leave my hair like a scouring pad, lol. but not these one, my hair is always clean after my clarifying process and very soft....

Dandruff shampoo.Dandruff can almost always be controlled, but dandruff treatment may take a little patience and persistence. In general, daily cleansing with a gentle shampoo to reduce oiliness and skin cell buildup can often help mild dandruff.
When regular shampoos fail, dandruff shampoos may succeed. But dandruff shampoos aren't all alike, and you may need to experiment until you find one that works for you. If you develop itching, stinging, redness or burning from any of these products, discontinue use. If you develop an allergic reaction, such as a rash, hives or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention.
I never experience dandruff but I hear a lot of good review about Shea Moisture Organic African Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo and the smell is amazing.

Dry, Damaged hair- For dry or damaged hair a creamy formula is recommended. Giving back any lost moisture is key if you want to repair any damaged hair. A good ingredient to look for is shea butter. This will help lock in your hair’s moisture.
My totally favorites are:
Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo.
Jane Carter Moisture Nourishing Shampoo.

Not only should seek the proper shampoo, take into consideration the environment, weather, stress, diet, medication, hormonal changes, and your lifestyle "all contribute to hair health." . Hair is very susceptible

Jane Carter Moisture Nourishing Shampoo.

  1. I say no shampoo unless it has specific ingredients. I've been using Giovanni. I also like Wen but they are all expensive. I shampoo once a week for that reason and condish wash throughout the week to save $.
