The border of Haiti a Natural way to survival? La frontera de haiti una forma natural de supervivencia

I was born in the border of Dominican Republic and Haiti, Dajabon; I did because My Mother use to travel from the Capital were she lived and went to college to have her babies looking for the love and care that only and mother can give...Every year in summer time I used to go there and visit my grandmother but when she died (the worst day in my life) I saw no reason to come back; I been in Dajabon  twice in almost 20 year...

My father is leaving there now and he is kind of sick and can't move long distance, so I pack my mochila and thanks to my wonderful brother and sister we get there in 3 hours driving at 4:00 am in the morning.. As soon as I plan my trip I knew I need it to take some picture and see how the women of Haiti are surviving and of couse in a natural hair perspective.I took a Motoconcho  and had a littler adventure with " reality "

It is astonishing how this women woke up in the middle of night to walk bare food for miles and miles to get from Haiti to Dajabon, crossing rivers and walking in under a hot sun and deserted places caring all kind of products, mostly in their head,  to sell door by door..

They don't care about Relaxer or natural, they have no choice, their hair is toasted by the Caribbean sun, their soul is broken of pain and suffer ...My daughter was looking at the pictures last nigh ans ask me: Mamí why all this women look so sad? --Do you think you will be happy under this conditions? with kids to feed and no hope? --- I answer--- I know it was a hard answer but with it I just hope she realize how lucky she is, how lucky we are...
